Cooling gas penetrates the compressor inside the outdoor unit through a copper tube. The compressor constricts the gas and sends the cooling agent to the condenser coil, pulling air from the outdoors via a fan and facilitating the movement of heat energy to the outdoor air.

The air is then expelled. The cooling agent is changed into liquid form before flowing back to the evaporator coil in the indoor component. The process restarts until the preferred temperature is accomplished.
